Otto
Uhrwerk van Germain, here.
I
suppose it's typical in these things to talk about all the things
that inspire you, and how your art is full of deep meaning, and
all that artsy stuff. Well, I don't really go in for that sort of
thing. My stuff is what it is, like it or don't.
I've
been drawing since I was able to pick up a crayon, and I don't
intend on stopping any time soon. Although my primary focus is
illustration and comics, I don't read many comics, or even look at
much art. Originality is paramount, and I don't want to be
influenced by other people's work. I may not be the most amazing
artist out there, but at the very least, I try to be unique.
My
style has been described as "smogpunk", meaning an
obsession with old machinery, military surplus, fossil fuels and industrial
decay. I'm the kind of guy who would rather go to a junkyard than an
art museum. Rust and smog are my bread and butter.
I
am Otto, and these are the things that drive me.
